Docker was founded in 2008 by Solomon Hykes and Sebastien Pahl. The company has not officially endorsed a plan to participate in an IPO.
Docker is a container software company with a solution designed to allow applications to deploy with greater ease and security. The company raised over $300 million in Venture Capital funding from investors including Aster Capital, Base Partners, Caffeinated Capital, Cross Creek, Greenspring Associates, Salesforce Ventures, SharesPost, Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, and Insight Partners. In November 2019, Mirantis acquired Docker’s enterprise business and team. Per company press releases, subsequent to aforementioned acquisition, the remaining Docker business raised $35 million in Venture Capital funding from Benchmark Capital and Insight Partners at an undisclosed valuation.
