Lemonade, which operates in the emerging insurance-tech vertical using artificial intelligence and chat bots to drive down costs, completed its Initial Public Offering in July 2020. The company priced its IPO at $29 per share, raising approximately $319 million at a market capitalization of approximately $1.6 billion.

Founded in 2015, Lemonade raised approximately $480 million during its time as a private company from Venture Capital investors including Champel Capital, eBrands.vc, G Squared, SoftBank, General Catalyst, GV, Thrive Capital, Tusk Ventures, and Expansion Venture Capital. Lemonade’s last private funding round was in April 2019, when it raised $300 million in a Series D with a post-money valuation of over $2 billion.
