Billionaire technology investor Elon Musk, who is the CEO of neurotechnology startup Neuralink, announced that the company successfully implanted one of its devices into a human as part of its testing initiatives. Neuralink gained approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration in May 2023, which paved the way for human trials of its medical device implants. Musk said the company’s first product is called Telepathy and it enables users to control computers and mobile devices through their thoughts.

Elon Musk's controversial brain implant company Neuralink has raised more funding as it gears up to start human trials. Neuralink has just collected a further $43 million, according to an SEC filing last week. The fresh funding brings the amount raised to more than $323 million, SEC filings show. The latest round was led by billionaire investor Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, TechCrunch reported. A total of 32 investors contributed funds, per the filing.
