Slack, the workplace communications platform founded in 2009, completed its Direct Listing on June 20, 2019. The company did not issue any new shares as a part of this offering, but early trading valued the company at a market capitalization of approximately $23 billion.

As a private company, Slack raised $1.36 billion from Venture Capital investors including Microsoft, AME Cloud Ventures, Baillie Gifford, Dragoneer Investment Group, General Atlantic, MicroVentures, T. Rowe Price, Comcast Ventures, GGV Capital, Thrive Capital, DST Global, IVP, Index Ventures, Spark Captial, GV, Kleiner Perkins, SV Angel, and Andreessen Horowitz. Slack’s last private funding round was in August 2018 when it raised $427 million at a post-money valuation of $7.13 billion.
