Harlan has been a hands-on engineer for 20+ years, leading and contributing to engineering teams in SF and NYC, and launching blockchain prototypes for Fortune 100 companies. He collaborated with the Rebooting the Web of Trust consortium in the self sovereign identity space, prototyping and evolving standards for trust, reputation and identity systems for decentralized applications. Harlan cofounded CoMakery as CTO, to help foster a new economy based on lightweight project membrane topologies. He is architect of the open source Trust Graph project, an interchange format for ratings and reputation. Harlan has been invited to speak on emerging technologies at the Internet Archive’s inaugural Decentralized Web Summit, the UPLIFT Festival in Australia, and the Federated Social Web Summit in San Francisco.
Harlan is certified in Scrum, Holacracy, and McCarthy Bootcamp technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Technology, Sydney, with a concentration in Computer Graphics.
